Standard video apps do not provide audio monitoring while recording; to monitor audio when recording video, you will need to use a pro video recording app like Open Camera, Cinema FV5, Filmic Pro. The 10 dB gain boost is helpful to reduce recorder noise level. The high cut filter is used to remove rumble and other low-frequency sounds.
