In the old Scottish folk song, there is a line, “I’ll take the high road and you’ll take the low road.” The destination is the same, just different ways to get there. As a child, I was shown the high road, and from an early age I decided that that would be my road; however, friends and family introduced different roads. In this book, I have shown how I chose the low road many times. Uphill through many years, my destination seemed to be death and destruction. Then along came Jesus with His wonderful Word, and He showed me the high road again. Choices had to be made every it was up to me. Heart aches for some; sickness for these can be stepping stones. They were for me. God stayed with me, accompanied by my parents, and the high road is now my road of choice.
